About Me

I’m Andrew Evans, a 35 year old Sydney based designer, visual thinker, tech nerd, live music lover, BBQ sauce enthusiast, and lifelong night owl!

How I became a designer

As far back as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with all things design. As a kid, I would obsessively draw floor plans for my imaginary dream homes. In my early teens, I became hooked on digital photography, capturing anything and everything I could point a camera at.

That early curiosity evolved into a deeper fascination with how things are made to look a certain way, and more importantly, why. It led me to pursue a formal education in visual design and communication, and eventually, into a career that’s allowed me to combine creativity with purpose.

As I've moved up through my creative roles, I've also been lucky enough to strengthen my skills alongside the rapidly changing technology landscape, which naturally led me into the world of UX/UI.

I've come to embrace the challenges and rewards that come with the constantly evolving future of design, especially now, with the rise of AI. I’ve always loved learning to understand new things, and the pace of change has never scared me, it’s what keeps me excited about my work.

Since 2019, I’ve been leading all things design at JIBB.ai — a growing tech startup building a visual collaboration platform from the ground up using its own patented AI.

It’s given me a rare opportunity as a designer, to shape the experience of something entirely new and help define how people interact with emerging tech, playing a key role in creating JIBB's end-to-end user experience and building a cohesive brand identity and online presence around their products.
‍
Over the past 6 years, I’ve managed JIBB's entire UX/UI design process and implementation, designed several iterations of their customer-facing websites, established comprehensive visual design systems, delivered live demos, customer onboarding, training, and contributed written copy for marketing material, user guides, and even investor pitch decks, driving visual storytelling across every customer and partner channel.
‍
As of July 2025, I’ve scaled back my role at JIBB to three days a week, giving me more time to seek new creative freelance opportunities (or finding my next big challenge).

I’m especially interested in working with local and growing businesses, ready to invest in impactful design that delivers better outcomes to help reach their goals.
‍
Whether it’s a new website, app interface, brand identity, product packaging or marketing campaign — I aim to deliver beautiful designs that are strategic, intentional, and on brand.
